OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is an annual event sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. Many churches around the country take place in this by gathering shoeboxes and filling them with items from toothbrushes to t-shirts to toys for children all over the world. Providence Baptist Church normally focuses on OCC in late October and early November annually. Shoeboxes can be filled individually, by group or by simply donating items to go into the boxes and are strictly volunteer.
Gathering donations for shoeboxes. Each month a different category of items for the shoeboxes will be collected. The donations are as follows:
February: Soap & Washcloths
March: Combs and Hair Bows
April: Gloves and Hats
May: Toothbrushes
June: Toys
July: Coloring/Activity Books and Crayons
August: Notebooks, Pens, Pencils & Sharpeners
September: Socks and underwear.
Shoeboxes will be packed in October & November to be delivered to the distribution center to go to children around the world bringing joy, love and the word of Christ
